Inergy Automotive Systems develops and implements unique test equipment and procedures to verify that our materials, components and systems meet and exceed the requirements of the automotive industry.

INERGY applies the testing requirements set by ECE 34 regulation standards by performing:
- cold impact testing: validation of joint plane and low thickness areas, by a 30 J impact on fuel tank, previously stocked at a -40°C temperature.
- Mechanical strength: the tank is submitted to a 300 mbar pressure and a 53°C temperature during 5 hours.
- Resistance to high temperature: tank is submitted to a 95°C temperature during 1 hour.
- ROV test: validation of tank permeability in case of roll-over.
- Fire test: to prevent fuel system from any leak in case of exposure with fire.
- Permeability test: to measure tank permeability to hydrocarbons.

We are not only committed to meet the requirements, but to exceed them. Therefore, to offer systems of best quality and in accordance to our customers’ specifications, we perform further tests related to:
Tank validation
- Burst test: tank is submitted to a 2 to 3 bar pressure.
- Drop test: fuel tank is stocked at a -40°C temperature and then dropped from a height of 6 meters.
- Sled tests: it simulates tank behaviour in case of crash. Fuel tank is stocked under various temperature conditions (-40°C, 20°C and 75°C), and then impacted by a 600kg weight sled, with an energy of 4000 J. The same test is performed but with a 1500J impact on the welding fill pipe/tank.

Fuel system functional validation
- Permeability (air leak test, helium leak test, SHED test)
- Filling (Fuel Filling testing, Fuel Fill testing for the ORVR)
- Venting (Dynamic venting On-Board Diagnostics)
- Noise (slosh noise, pump noise)
- Vibration
- Pressure Cycling
- Ageing
- Gauging
- Components validation (valves testing, canister testing)
