Continuously searching new materials to acknowledge, anticipate and exceed customer’s specifications and emission regulations, INERGY is at the state of the art to provide the OEMs with high quality fuel system solutions.
Depending on the different evaporative norms applicable in the different Regions of the world, different plastic architectures have been developed to face all emission requirements.
Monolayer
Monolayer plastic material consists in a single layer of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) commonly used for diesel Fuel Systems. Fuel systems in monolayer material can be fluorinated either in-line or in reactors, off-line, to meet Euro 3 emission regulations.
Multilayer
To further reduce permeation levels and meet LEVII, Euro 4 or Japanese regulations, multilayer materials have been developed. An EVOH or PA layer is introduced between HDPE layers, with adhesive to ensure the material’s integrity. The manufacturing process is coextrusion, and therefore, this material is very often called COEX.
